European Training Standards
European standards for vocational training in renovation are currently non-existent even though they would be quite useful in the context of alleviating cyclical fluctuations in the economy and a corresponding surplus of job openings or national deficit of workers, respectively. In The Netherlands, for example, demand for workers is higher than supply giving rise to intentions of bringing more foreign workers into the country.
European standards regulating skilled trades qualifications in respect of renovation would increase the mobility of European construction workers and allow streamlining the various training levels in individual countries. A form of standardisation which allows for specific features in individual countries, would be most desirable.
